The Vitamix Ascent 2300i Blender is the simpler of the two models in this new series of power blenders, offering a significant price saving while only sacrificing the pre-programmed cycles.  In all other respects, the two models are identical and some will find the intuitive simplicity of variable speed and pulse controls are all they could ever need. You still get the digital timer and from later on this year you'll also be able to buy the personal blender containers for single portion smoothie blending and small chopping and grinding tasks.
